PacificBlu es una empresa de alimentos del mar, la que ha destacado en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os como la principal productora de alimentos con valor agregado en base a merluza com\u00fan. Cuenta con un sistema de captura selectivo y sostenible y el 100% de su producci\u00f3n est\u00e1 destinada al consumo humano directo, productos que son distribuidos a lo largo de todo Chile a trav\u00e9s de su marca El Golfo.<\/p>\n

La compa\u00f1\u00eda ha trabajado progresivamente en el mejoramiento continuo de sus est\u00e1ndares de calidad, inspirado en el desarrollo sostenible de la localidad donde opera, con la convicci\u00f3n de promover la alimentaci\u00f3n saludable y ser un motor econ\u00f3mico para la regi\u00f3n y el pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Diversas acciones con la comunidad, la innovaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica de sus plantas y sus barcos, la capacitaci\u00f3n e inclusi\u00f3n de sus trabajadores y la b\u00fasqueda de tecnolog\u00eda y dise\u00f1o para optimizar el comportamiento ambiental, son parte importante de los logros que hoy se reflejan en este Reporte de Sostenibilidad que se presenta a continuaci\u00f3n y que corresponde al ejercicio del a\u00f1o 2021.<\/p>\n

Este informe se ha elaborado de conformidad con la opci\u00f3n Esencial de los Est\u00e1ndares de Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), que permite contar con indicadores estandarizados -aspectos materiales- para medir el grado de responsabilidad ambiental y social de una empresa en relaci\u00f3n a su entorno. Los est\u00e1ndares GRI se vinculan directamente con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), establecidos por Naciones Unidas.<\/p>\n

Los datos contenidos aqu\u00ed corresponden a la descripci\u00f3n general de la compa\u00f1\u00eda y a su gesti\u00f3n entre el 1 de enero al 31 de diciembre de 2021 y, en algunos casos, se incluye informaci\u00f3n de a\u00f1os anteriores para medir los avances en el desarrollo de acciones necesarias para contar con una mejor empresa.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la metodolog\u00eda GRI el reporte es elaborado en base a Temas Materiales. Esto se refiere a los asuntos en los que la empresa impacta a su entorno, sea este econ\u00f3mico, social y\/o ambiental. Tambi\u00e9n se considera fundamental distinguir los temas que desde el entorno impactan a la empresa. Estos \u00faltimos si bien son descritos en el reporte no son necesariamente incluidos como temas materiales.<\/p>\n

Los Temas Materiales de 2021 de PacificBlu si bien coinciden con algunos que presentan la industria pesquera en general local e internacional, fueron el resultado de un ejercicio en que se incluyeron los principales grupos de inter\u00e9s de la compa\u00f1\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Entre noviembre de 2021 y febrero de 2022, adem\u00e1s del an\u00e1lisis de documentaci\u00f3n secundaria, se realizaron tres talleres con sus gerentes y jefaturas con un an\u00e1lisis exhaustivo que permiti\u00f3 distinguir y caracterizar los temas para efectivamente dar cumplimiento al Principio de Materialidad. Es decir, reportar como los Temas Materiales son aquellos que influyen \u201csustancialmente\u201d en la organizaci\u00f3n y sus grupos de inter\u00e9s.<\/p>\n
